Darn Straight Straightening and Polishing Lotion from Straight Sexy Hair
By Makeupguineapig @MakeUpGuineaPigI have been using Sexy Hair’s Darn Straight Straightening and Polishing Lotion from their Straight Sexy Hair for about a month or two now. Though this line of products is designed to help straighten hair, I tend to use it when I curl my hair using a flat iron. It is described as a “conditioning and straightening lotion that provides temporary smoothing and extra protection from heat by infusing nourishing vitamins and antioxidants into the hair cuticle.” I feel like it adds a little more protection from the heat and it actually seems to help the curl hold. I mean holding waves until my hair is to the point of becoming a giant grease ball if I do not wash it! It is supposed to help with shine as well, though I am not sure about that one. Since shine is not my main concern with this product, I have not paid a whole lot of attention to a change there. I tend to lean towards it does make hair look a bit shinier, but nothing so noticeable that I feel like I can say that with complete certainty. It does seem to help with frizz and fly-aways which is a definite must in my book! All in all, I really am impressed with Straight Sexy Hair’s Darn Straight Straightening and Polishing Lotion.
So how does one use Darn Straight? It comes in a graphite-colored squeeze bottle. It is a very pale, almost Pepto Bismal pink colored lotion with very little scent. I guess I would say it smells a bit like an unscented body lotion. Whatever scent the product itself has, I do not notice it after using it which is a nice change because most hair products have a distinct smell that one either loves or hates. This one could be used by anyone – including men! I use about a dime or nickel sized amount to coat all of my hair (which is a little more than chest length) right after I wash it. I let it air dry and then I get the flat iron out for the waving process, though I think it would be great for just straightening or blow drying as well. And as I said above, I can usually go about 3 days without the waves losing much, if any of their bounce! The Straight Sexy Hair Darn Straight has quickly become one of my best friends since I hate spending tons of time on my hair every morning and it allows me to do it maybe twice a week instead without looking horrible in between! Plus it adds some protection which I am sure my severely bleached blonde hair appreciates. Let me know if you have tried Darn Straight from Straight Sexy Hair or if you are thinking about it!
