Currently Craving: Workout Gear

By Carrie Berschman @CarrieBerschman
Hello and happy Tuesday to you all! Today is a day off from class, and I'm spending it getting caught up on laundry and doing homework. This morning, despite the snowfall (that is still accumlating) I got my butt out of bed and hit the gym. If you know me personally, you may know that for most of my life I have never been a stickler over what I eat. I try to watch portion size, but don't deprive myself by any means... But over the past month or two, I have decided to make some serious life style changes starting with becoming more active! In high school, I participated in a handful of activities and found myself fit because of it. However, I have not kept up with that, and it was starting to catch up with me. At the start of the new year, with a little research I joined a local gym and signed up with a trainer. I currently am meeting her once a week, and she creates a routine customized for me to follow until I meet with her again. The idea of creating a new routine each week should hopefully avoid hitting those plateaus. As far as diet is concerned, the trainer also help me set some personal goals and guidelines for things such as water, protein, and caloric intake. MyFitnessPal (iPhone app) has become my best friend! Keeping a journal/log really holds you accountable! So far, I have found it fairly easy to meet the goals and am already seeing promising results. I am very excited to see my progress each month!
Outside of all the numbers and science of my "lifestyle change", my new gym habits have me urging for a fun workout gear wardrobe. I have a few pieces that I love, but am wanting to add a few more to my rotation-- an old t-shirt is not nearly as fun as a cute tank, right?!
Take a look at my wish list:
