Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard Sauce

By Invisiblestilettos
Ready for another super easy and super yummy recipe?  I've got another one for you.  I'm a big fan of McDonald's McNuggets and I really miss their honey and mustard dip which is only available occasionally.  I think the last time I ordered nuggets with honey mustard sauce was back when they were promoting Shrek.  I remembered that clearly because they colored the sauce neon green.  The husband came up with the idea of recreating the recipe and I really loved it.  I like it more now than the ones from McDonald's.  If you love this chicken nuggets and want to know how simple it is to make at home, keep on reading.Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard Sauce
For this recipe, you will need:
1.  Crispy garlic bits (optional)
2.  Seasoned bread crumbs
3.  Egg
4.  Chicken breast
5. Black pepperCrispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard SauceFor our dipping, we will need:
1.  Mayo
2.  Honey
3.  Yellow mustard Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard Sauce Let's begin.  First, get your chicken breasts.  You can buy whole chicken breasts or breast fillets at your local supermarket.  Remove any bone and cartilage then slice the breasts into bite-size pieces.  What I love about this recipe is that we are using pure chicken breast not like the ready-made nuggets with loads of fat, scraps from other parts of the chicken and even bone.  I believe they also have fillers/extenders like flour, et cetera.Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard SauceNext, crack one egg then add the black pepper and crispy garlic bits.  Beat eggs until well combined.  You can also omit the garlic bits if you do not want them.  I love my chicken nuggets garlicky. :)Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard SauceNext step, soak the chicken in the mixture.  Just let them sit there for a few minutes to absorb the flavor and make our chicken juicy and tender.Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard SauceCoat the chicken with the seasoned bread crumbs.  I bought this ready-made breading which has seasoned fine flour and panko bread crumbs combined.  If you cannot find seasoned bread crumbs, you can use the regular all-purpose flour then add a bit of salt and pepper to taste and coat it in panko.Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard SauceCoat all sides of the chicken with the bread crumbs then let it sit to dry out a bit.  You can also store the nuggets inside your fridge if you're planning to fry this later.Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard SauceNext, heat oil in a pan then fry these babies until they are golden brown.  Chicken cooks very easily so do not over cook as the meat would become rubbery.  I like my chicken soft and juicy.Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard SauceOnce cooked, drain the chicken nuggets of any excess oil on a clean paper towel.  Set them aside as we make our dipping sauce.Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard SauceIn a clean container, mix one part honey, one part mustard, and two parts mayo.  For this recipe I used one tablespoon of mustard, one tablespoon of honey, and two tablespoons of mayo.  You can adjust the sauce to your liking.  Add more mustard if you want more tang or more honey for more sweetness.Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard SauceJust mix all three ingredients together and that's it, that easy :)  You're honey mustard sauce is now ready.Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard SauceEnjoy your homemade chicken nuggets with your super yummy honey mustard sauce.  I bet the kids and kids at heart like me will surely love this!Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Honey Mustard SauceThanks for stopping by :)  I do hope you enjoyed this recipe.  Do you love chicken nuggets too?  Comment below, I'd love to know!
