CreateJobsforUSA.org

Right now is a challenging time for our economy. Approximately 9.1% of Americans are out of work and the state of some Global markets are still uncertain. As a community of bloggers, BlogHer is partnering with Starbucks and Opportunity Finance Network to get the word out about CreateJobsforUSA.org, which was just launched November 1st.

Starbucks donated five million dollars to a fund at the Opportunity Finance Network for capital grants to local lenders who fund small businesses that make a difference. Businesses like Zonia Torres’s overnight daycare in San Francisco, which servces single Moms who have to work the night shift. The current state of the economy has made it difficult for small, local businesses to get the funds they need to grow, create jobs and hire.

You can donate to the fund through CreateJobsforUSA.org or at Starbucks and 100% of your donation will go directly to the fund. Please also spread the word about this initiative to anyone who you think might be interested.
