We traveled across mountains, valleys, a series of towns, to the old Berber town where Gladiator was filmed and beyond to reach the Sahara Desert.
Boy was it phenomenal, and to top it all off in true Berber style my comrades and I, made sand beds in the sand dunes and star gazed the entire night away.
You have not truly experienced the Sahara desert, if you don't sleep in the sand dune, none of this tent business. You have got to get down and dirty!
So dig yourself a groove into the sand dune. T
he sand underneath is so warm and toasty, jump in and cover yourself with sand. It is your own natural heated blanket to shield you from the cool breeze at night. Star gazing in the Sahara Desert should be one of those things you should do before you die, it truly is one the most spectacular spectacle you will ever witness. The sky is bursting with stars so bright, you could easily get lost just staring at them; and you would not believe how many shootings stars we saw. Don't worry I saved you a wish too.
The moon rising from the horizon like an candle in the night and the silence of the sunrise is something that I will remember for the rest of my life.
So if you do decide to venture to Morocco, make sure you spend at least one night in the desert. If the stars don't impress you, then you really are miserable.
