Colorblocking

Colorblocking
Every so often, I get inspired to do some interior decorating (by interior decorating, I mean rearranging).  However, since I have roommates and we share the space, I have to limit my rearranging to my things only.   One of the things that have recently caught my eye on various design blogs is the trend of arranging books by color, instead of alphabetically or by size.  It looks cool!  It's practical and it gives a room a focal point - sort of like functional art!

I took a look at my books this weekend, and unfortunately most of the ones I have here in DC aren't fun colors (or even similar ones).  But I might try rearranging them just for the hell of it, to see if it works!

I just can't figure out what you do with book series that have covers in different colors.  Do you keep them together? Separate them out? I'm not sure my OCD can handle that!

Do you like this trend?
