Colorbar Face Brushes Review (Part I)

Colorbar Face Brushes Review

Packaging
The Colorbar brush comes in a blister pack that can be open and closed when required which helps to store the brush easily.  The face brushes are stout white stem and black at the front and come with magenta bristles (picture perfect foundation brush has yellow bristles), making the whole look of the brush attractive. The brush is a little shorter than the length of palm and the chubby look makes gripping and holding the brush easy. The shape of the brush is fairly good to pick the right amount of product needed. There is no label on the brushes and you get confused whether it’s a Blush, Contour or a Powder brush, as all look similar.

Colorbar Face Brushes : Blushing Blush Brush

QualityThe Colorbar Blush brush picks right amount of color but the bristles are scratchy when used on cheeks, so I thought of giving it a wash thinking it might become softer but my expectations failed when after cleaning it for 3-4 times the result was same. The brush sheds much after washing and it is hard to manage as well.

Colorbar Chic Cheeks Contouring Brush (Product Claims)
Colorbar Chic Cheeks Contouring Brush is an angled blusher brush with an asset of picking up more material than the normal blush brushed do. Its ultra-soft bristles glide gently along the contours of the face building color effortlessly.Colorbar Chic Cheeks Contouring Brush is capable of blending color efficiently in simple sweeps of the bristles. The angled bristle head allows convenient shading and contouring. The natural brushes are gentle on skin. It can be used on cheekbones, face and cheeks.

Colorbar Face Brushes : Chic Cheeks Contouring Brush

QualityThe Colorbar Contour brush has slanted bristles which is well enough to fit in the hollows of your cheeks. The brush is denser and picks the right amount of color for contouring. I prefer my contour brush to be slightly thinner like Real Techniques Contouring brush as it becomes easy to contour nose, temples and brow bone. The quality of the brush is however a disaster. The bristles of the brush were scratchy when new and after washing for 2-3 times the result was same. The brush do sheds after washing and you get to see 5/6 bristles in the towel post cleaning.

Colorbar First Impressions Powder Brush (Product Claims)
Meet the fluffy pouf with oomph! This plump powder brush is a charmer that blends all kinds of powders to give you a camera-ready face every stroke, everyday. The soft, rounded bristles say no to powderiness or caking for a smooth, even finish.

Colorbar Face Brushes : Powder Brush Review

QualityThe Colorbar Powder brush has scratchy bristles when new however, after 2 washes the bristles softened and were gentle on cheeks (Thank God this wasn’t stubborn as the other 2 brushes). The shape of a brush is quite good. It is quite dense yet has a bit of fluffiness so it doesn’t pick up too much powder. It has a slight taper and curve but the profile is less rounded than the blush brush. The brush is not too large so it is easy to blend the powder in the smaller areas of the face like around the nose, temples etc.Post washing, the brushes do shed 2-3 bristles which is quite fine.

Colorbar Foundation Brush Review, Price and Availability

QualityThe Colorbar foundation brush has soft bristles that do not feel scratchy on skin unlike the other face brushes. The brush does not soak a lot of foundation. The finish is quite natural as it blends both cream and liquid foundation seamlessly. As the edge is tapered, it makes the application of foundation on the corners of nose and temples easy. The bristles are synthetic and hence dry quickly when washed. The bristles do not shed. I will recommend this brush to beginners who doesn’t want to spend extra bucks on beauty blenders or Real Techniques Stippling brush.
Rating : 3.5/5
Overall VerdictColorbar India has made the packaging attractive; I wish the same has been done to the texture of the brushes. Most brushes have scratchy bristles and uncomfortable on skin. The brushes don’t have a label and hence confused with other ones. The best part is the magenta bristles do not stain. I prefer splurging on Real Technique brushes which is attractive in look and best in quality.I would recommend going for Powder and Foundation Brush.
