It's quite something to be able to look down on everyone!
The terrace is a wonderful mix of soft coloured wood and stark white furniture. It's really contemporary but surprisingly feels much cosier than the bar on the ground floor. Unfortunately for us on the day we visited it was bucketing down so we were confined to the little sunroom. Despite this it was nice, warm and bright. I actually felt like I was on holidays!
I love the simple color palette and the use of different textures.

But what of the cocktails, the reason I was there, afterall. They were fantastic. I'm not going to pretend I can tell good liquor in a cocktail but the overall balance and taste was perfect. And they were generous, a big plus in my book, especially at €13.50 each. It felt like decent value for money, or as I prefer to say, bang for your buck.

A few snacks arrived with the drinks and we also ordered some black pudding and sausage rolls and a cheese board. They punctuated the cocktails nicely though the rolls screamed for some relish!

The other fantastic thing about The Marker is the views. With the exception of Liberty Hall (which isn't open to the public anyway) Dublin really lacks height. Views from any kind of elevated position are few and far between. The terrace has a fantastic panorama and I can only imagine what it would be like on a sunny summer's day, though, from what I'm led to believe you have to be something akin to royalty or a free jumper in order to bag a seat here on a good day! Pity I've no head for heights!
