They chose a luxury venue and beautiful styling to set the scene for their day, and incorporated their personalities in a fun and charming way with a Glasto theme: festival flags, their very own beer and CDs for wedding favours are just a few of their festival wedding ideas.
I love this wedding: it shows how a theme can be a flavor of a wedding day without taking over, and there’s a delicious sense of fun at one of Yorkshire’s most elegant wedding venues — those flags are fantastic!
I hope any festival-loving brides and grooms out there can take inspiration from Louise and Jamie’s lovely wedding blog feature. The photography is from my old friend and Yorkshire wedding photographer Mark Tierney (and it’s ace to have you back on English Wedding Blog, Mark!)
Enjoy!

Memorable wedding day moments
Photo shoot in the Glastonbury-style flags in our wedding wellies. The delivery of flowers on my wedding morning– seeing my beautiful bouquet of avalanche roses and the bridemaids’ boho daisychain headdresses for the first time.
Wedding day advice
I made all of my own stationery and used photos I had taken at Glastonbury for the table plan and table signs– it was so rewarding to see all my work come together on the day. When it comes to the day, my advice is to chill and enjoy!
Wedding day highlights
Our first dance to ‘Fix You’ by Coldplay when all our friends and family made a circle for us to dance in. Our ‘Green-King Wedding Beer’- especially brewed for our wedding by Greene King. Wonderful and hilarious speeches.
Wedding venue styling and details:
Denton Hall provided a classic backdrop for our wedding with its beautiful and elaborate Georgian style. Set in the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside, we added our own Glastonbury theme by hiring white festival flags.
We added rustic touches to the dining room and named our tables after locations at Glastonbury festival. Our wedding favours were CDs we made for our guests with songs that are special to us.
The CD cover was a photo of us at Glastonbury in a cluster of white festival flags– we had also used this photo on our save the date cards.
Music and entertainment: During the drinks reception former Leeds busker now acclaimed classic rock/ blues artist, Tristan Mackay, played acoustic classics on guitar (http://tristanmackay.com/). For the evening we danced away to Beatles tribute act, “John & Paul”.
[A note from Claire: I’m listening to Tristan as I type… and definitely will again. He has a beautiful voice and is a bit gorgeous ] https://www.facebook.com/tristanmackaymusic
