Good day darlings! How's your weekend? I have been so lazy this weekend because it's been super hot here now we've got to turn the air conditioning on 24/7. The only productive thing I have done I think is this recipe. I love cheese. I think I have told you that one too many times already, but who does not love cheese? I've never met a person who does not love it or even like it? So, for us cheese lovers, here's any easy recipe you can do at home for snack.
For this recipe, we will need the following:
1. Dumpling wrappers
2. Fresh basil leaves
3. Cheese of your choiceLet's start, shall we? Get some fresh basil leaves. You can buy this at the supermarket or plant your own. It's super easy to grow and if you're like me who loves tomato-based dishes, pasta, and anything with tomatoes and cheese, having a basil plant is a must. Wash your leaves and air dry them. While they're drying, cut you cheese into one-inch cubes. I'm using regular cheese here in the Philippines but you can definitely use mozarella.Next, get a piece of dumpling wrapper. Place a leaf of basil then top with your cubed cheese. This is how it should look like ;)Next, bring all sides to the center, pinch, and then twist. Dumpling wrappers are pretty thick and a bit pliable so don't worry about tearing the wrapper.Repeat the steps until you've wrapped all basil and cheese. This is how they looked like after I've wrapped them all.In a pan, heat oil, about an inch deep, then place your "dumplings." Fry until the wrapper is golden brown. Place it in a container lined with paper towel to drain any excess oil.Let it cool down for a bit and then serve. Love the crunchiness of the dumpling wrapper and that gooey melted cheese! You can serve this with mayo or ketchup.
ATTENTION: Don't be too excited eating this! You will definitely burn your mouth. Don't do what I did and ate a piece too hot :( Hope you enjoy today's recipe!
Good luck!
