Trying lose lose weight for most people is a challenge. Most will start a diet plan and fall off many times. Some people will try unhealthy diet programs only to find out that they have gained weight after a year or two. Others will cut out all foods that they think are unhealthy only to find themselves eating the same foods they gave up in less than a year. This is a problem for most Americans. To lose weight you must change one bad habit at a time. Before you know it you will be living a healthier lifestyle.
Healthy Eating
If you ask a thousand people what is heathy eating you will get about a thousand different answers. Some will say not eating junk food while others will say no carbs. If your goal is to lose weight, learn everything you can about healthy eating. Learn how your body processes foods. Learn the best time to eat certain macronutrients. This will make the change easier. When you truly understand about nutrition you will think about food an entirely different way.
Do not get hung up on fad diets or infomercials. If it sounds to good to be true then it is. You mission is to learn how to make better choices. Losing weight is by eating healthy, not by starving yourself or depriving your body the nutrients it needs to survive. In fact when you learn what foods are better choices you will soon see that there are many foods to choose from. You will also notice eating the calories that your body needs will have you feeling full all day long.
Eating healthy does not mean that you have to spend a lot of money on food. It just takes a little work to find healthy foods that will not have you spending your retirement fund. Keep in mind that just like the fad diets there are companies making a fortune on “healthy foods.” Buying by bulk and separating it into portions is one way to save a lot of money. A chicken dinner that you cook at home will cost you less than 4 dollars with two sides of veggies. You can’t even go to McDonald’s and get that amount of food for less than 4 dollars. If you buy chicken breast in bulk and freeze it into portions it will be even less expensive.
One Change
Here is they key to losing weight and being able to keep it off. Change one bad habit to a healthier habit. It is that simple. When you are learning about healthy nutrition pick one area that you are going to change. At first pick an easy one. For example; if you eat ice cream every night find something that will be a healthier choice in place of it. You can have Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, salad or even a variety of fresh veggies. There are so many nutrient dense foods to pick from.
Once that you have found that you are not going for that container of ice cream it will be time to change another bad Habit. Taking this strategy will have you not feeling deprived and overwhelmed. Even a small change will give you positive results. Taking one area at a time will give you the right amount of time it will take to become a healthy habit. You will find what works for you. This will make the next challenge that much easier. Health is for a lifetime, not just for a month or two. Enjoy your new habits and enjoy the new you.
Best of health and happiness,
