Miller Welch wildlife management area is located in Berea Kentucky just off of 421. Heading towards Berea turn left onto Dreyfus rd. Drive just under 2 miles and you will see a gravel driveway on the left at the top of a hill. Follow the gravel drive to the end. park anywhere you can and walk down the hill to the pond.
The pond has some decent fishing opportunities. present species include bluegill, largemouth bass, channel catfish, and some very large grass carp. The water is usually crystal clear and fishing is fairly tough. Live bait works very well along with small natural colored lures. The pond has very little structure to get hung up on so you don't have to worry about losing too many lures. Most of the bluegill are under 7 inches, the bass are just about keeper size, and the catfish are usually under 2 lbs with some larger ones. I have talked to KDFW and they sampled the pond a few years back and they told me they shocked up 6 bass over 6lbs. So there is a chance to catch a trophy fish here.
