capsicum biryani - falvorful biryani made with green bell pepper and usual spices used for biryani recipe.
This is my recent favorite and i wan to share some rice based recipes or you can say one pot meal based on rice.I had a very few recipes and i posted so many gravy masala recipes here.I made this biryani last week and we had this withpaneer butter masala and raita.tastes wonderful and had this biryani after so many months.

This is so easy to prepare and the flavor from mint and the usual spices added here is mindblowing and this is the perfect biryani for winter.This will also goes with chicken and mutton gravies too.lets move on making the recipe,

biryani recipe using bell pepper/capsicum

  • rice (basmati or any long rice) - 2 cups
  • Onion - 2 finely chopped
  • tomato - 3 finely chopped
  • capsicum or bell pepper - 2 roughly chopped
  • mint leaves and coriander leaves - 1 cup
  • green chillies - 3 nos
  • ginger garlic paste - 2 teaspoons
  • cinnamon stick - 1 /2 inch
  • bay leaf - 2 nos
  • cloves - 3 nos
  • cardamom pods - 2 nos
  • oil - 3 tablespoons
  • ghee - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/4 teaspoon(optional)
  • Red chilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • coriander powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • coriander leaves - for garnishing
  • salt - to taste
Instructions
  1. Make a fine paste from mint leaves,coriander leaves and green chillies and set aside.soak the rice for 20 minutes.
  2. Now heat the oil along with ghee in a pressure cooker then add the bay leaf,cloves,cardamom pods,cinnamon stick and saute them.
  3. now add the ginger garlic paste to it and saute them till the raw smell leaves.
  4. Now add the paste from mint leaves, coriander leaves and green chillies.Saute it well.Now add onion,capsicum, tomatoes and make sure they are half cooked.add salt for the recipe as you need in this stage.
  5. Now add garam masala,coriander powder and red chilli powder to it and give a quick mix.
  6. Wash the rice and add it here.Measure and add water to it and put the lid.
  7. Put the weight and cook in medium flame for 3 whistles approximately.Wait till the pressure releases.
  8. Then remove the lid and give a gentle mix and serve.
