Cancer Rising – February 2013
This February, your Sun and Venus will be in your 8th house for most of the time. This is a particularly intense few weeks that may see you psycho-analysing why you are feeling on edge and looking at your inner self and getting to know it better. Changes are happening to you on a level that you may not quite understand. This house is associated with death, and an aspect of your life may end now, allowing room for new experiences to enter. It is possible that an encounter with someone will shake up your personal value system quite radically now. There is a lot of emphasis on intimacy when Venus moves through here. Any new relationship will be based more on the physical side of it, and existing ones will be stimulated by your more deep and emotional desires. This is also the house of shared resources and the effect of the Sun and Venus being here may make you very aware of any shared finances, debt, investments or potential loans that you need to take out. During these transits you may also benefit from the resources and money of your partner or of an associate. The New Moon on 10th Feb may put the spotlight on any of these issues.
Mercury and Mars are passing through your 9th house of higher learning, beliefs and travel so your motivation to learn new skill s and experience new things is high. If you are interested in learning a new language, this is a super time to start, indeed learning new skills and meeting new people whose culture or beliefs differ to your own will benefit you enormously. In truth, anything that stirs your intellect is good for you and you may be inclined to start new study courses under this influence. Mars’ square to Jupiter on the 9th Feb may be an excellent time to begin these. If you are on you travels, you will find your trip most inspiring and it is possible that you may have to deal with legal issues in some way too. Please be aware that you can be quite aggressive with Mars in the 9th house, so if you do have any legal matters going on now, any overly aggressive behavior could cause you difficulties. Mercury turns retrograde on 23rd February, so be very prepared for travel delays or disruptions in the next three weeks. This is a house of learning and faith, so you may go back over things you have recently learnt and you may question your own ethics and beliefs under this influence too. The Full Moon in Virgo on 25th arrives in your 3rd house squared by Jupiter so communication matters or local issues may be highlighted. It is possible that generous acts or matters of excess that were previously hidden may be exposed into the full light of day. It could also be that your actions and/or those of others may be influenced by legal implications or could make you consider your beliefs and personal faith.
This month, Jupiter and Saturn switch direction and eventually you will start to see effect of the motion of these big planets in your daily life. Jupiter finally turns direct in Gemini from the beginning of the month and Saturn turns retrograde on 18th February in Scorpio. Jupiter is in your 12th house of solitude, sacrifice, spirituality, work done behind the scenes and hidden enemies, and now it’s expansive energy will aid you in helping others, or maybe you may get help when you most need it. This will be a good time for learning about your own spirituality or taking some time away to sort out any psychological or issues of addiction in your own life. Saturn is turning in your 5th house of sport and entertainment, children, affairs of the heart and individual creativity so these areas of life will slow down, or you might have to adjust your plans now. Maybe commitments to children will stop you going out so much? Maybe your creative efforts will have to be redone to suit other people’s needs and wishes? Maybe your lover’s actions will call into question the validity of your relationship?
