We are still learning something new about different kinds of cancer every day. Enormous funds are assigned to cancer research every year, but it is a disease which is usually very difficult to cure and can still in many occasions even lead to death.
So, is there anything we can do to prevent cancer from developing in the first place? Fortunately there is.
Cancer PreventionThere are some drugs on the market to prevent cancer but are mainly meant for a specific population that is at a high risk of developing certain cancer types. Reasons most of these drugs are not used with a wider range of people are many serious side effects.
Nevertheless, some drugs have shown to decrease the risk for cancer and have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for cancer prevention. These include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and also the hormonal antagonists Tamoxifen and Raloxifene.
Besides those pharmaceutical solutions there are also some a bit more natural alternatives. Recent studies show that food is a powerful factor in the fight against cancer. Did you know that broccoli is a vegetable with the strongest anti-cancer effects on a wide intestine, lungs, stomach and breasts?
A half a cup of broccoli a day should have a very positive effect on the whole body.
