Cafe Mocha and SRC

018Welcome to another installment of Secret Recipe Club. This is where I am assigned another blogger to stalk and make one of their recipes.

I was overjoyed when I got  We Heart Vegan. I have been wanting to make some vegan recipes but wasn’t sure how.

Oh so many vegan recipes and such little time to figure out which one! I printed out the Vegan Potato Patties recipe and thought that would be a great one to start with.  I just kept looking at different recipes. Each one looked better than the last.  I finally made an executive decision and in the end I made her  Cafe Mocha. It was a hit in my house. Even Monkey Girl loved it!

Britney and Julie are the brains behind  We Heart Vegan. Their passion for a plant-based lifestyle shines through their blog. They like to show everyone that not only is vegan food healthy, it is cheap and appealing.

Keep in mind I am no stranger to eating vegetarian. Our Lenten season is all about abstaining from meat. I have relatives that are vegetarians and enjoy cooking for them all the time.

I thought it would be kind of cool to check out the recipes they had to offer. I know there was a recipe in there that had my name on it and I was right. I really enjoyed that Cafe Mocha and would definitively make it again.

Cafe Mocha

Ingredients:

1 cup almond milk

1 packet hot chocolate

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon espresso

1 cup brewed coffee

Directions:

In a small saucepan dissolve the hot chocolate into the almond milk. Add the vanilla extract and espresso power and bring to a simmer. Add the coffee to the mixture and allow to simmer 2-4 minutes.
