Following on from my reviews of the Bugaboo Bee we were sent on loan, today I want to tell you about the High Performance Footmuff we were sent to accompany the stroller.
About the Footmuff...
The High Performance Footmuff is a universal footmuff that can be used with all of the different Bugaboo strollers.
It comes with two detachable covers - the Spring to Autumn cover which as a polyester padding and the Winter cover which has a duck down filling. The covers can be easily replaced with the 2×2 way waterproof zipper.
The footmuff is water and oil-repellent, breathable and windproof. There is a 'dirt shield' inside to protect it from dirty feet.
It is easily attached to the stroller with the velcro openings.
The High Performance Footmuff comes in three colours, Arctic Grey, Black and Red.
When I opened the footmuff I could immediately feel that it was very good quality, as you would expect from Bugaboo. The Winter cover felt very thick and the inner liner was lovely and soft.
It took us quite a while to figure out how to fit the footmuff onto the Bee. Because it is universal we did find it quite big for the Bee as it is only a small stroller. The straps were easy to fit through the velcro openings, however, it was attaching it over the top of the pram, underneath the hood, that we struggled with. Because the hood of the Bee attaches with buttons, these need to be undone to attach the footmuff. You then cannot do up these buttons again so the hood, when pushed back, does not attach to the Bee as well as it should.
Having said this, it would not put me off using this footmuff with the Bee. It is an incredibly warm and cosy footmuff that Little Miss A has loved using over these cold winter months. I feel like she is really protected from all of the elements in there as it zips very high up and you can also pull the toggle on the front quite tight so that she can't get her arms out easily (very handy when you have a child that refuses to keep gloves on!).
The other thing I really like about the footmuff is the popper buttons on the side. When you are in shops you can fold back the cover to a couple of different heights so that your little one does not get too warm. This has been really handy whilst out and about as we have been able to fold the cover right down without having any loose bits flapping around or getting caught under the wheels!
The raincover that comes with the Bee has fitted over the footmuff nicely and, when getting caught out in small showers I have noticed the footmuff is very good at repelling water.
I would definitely recommend this footmuff to anyone with a Bugaboo stroller. Although it is pricier than some, you are getting two covers within that price to take you right through the year and it is excellent quality so you know it will last for as long as your little ones need to be in a stroller.
Often when out and about people have commented on how snug and warm Little Miss A has looked and I have to agree!
