The main subjects involved in Naval Architecture are as follows:
• Hydrostatics: This subject is related to the conditions to which vessels are subjected i.e., their ability to remain afloat on water even when they are at rest. This subject includes hydrostatic properties such as trim and stability.
• Hydrodynamics: Hydrodynamics is the subject related to the flow of water around and over the ship’s bodies. The water which flows around the hull, stern and bows causes resistance for the motion of the ship. Calculation of power is done based on the resistance occurred due to water flow around the hull.
• Flotation and stability: The stability of the ship to float on water depends upon the distance between longitudinal Metacenter and the center of gravity. Even the floating objects or vehicles do face the gravitational force pulling it towards the down. To avoid sinking and stay afloat the hydrostatic power acts as the opposite force for the gravitational force and keeps the ship safe from sinking. In still water, the floating body must be maintained at equilibrium by maintaining the force acting on the body in same magnitude and the same line.
• Structure: For constructing or building anything the structure is very important. The structure is nothing but the selection of products or materials to build. Before starting to build the ship the materials required should be listed first. Structural analysis is done to test the strength, their vibration and response of the vessels when they are in motion in the sea. As the ship varies the materials used for the design and structure of the ships varies. Some ships are made from reinforced plastic material, where most other ships are built using steel and aluminum. The whole ship is built using the rectangular panels, consisting of the steel plantings’ supported on all four edges.

• Arrangements: Arrangements involves planning and designing. The design concepts illustrate or convey the design plan and ideas before actually the ship is being built. Arrangements also deal with the safety and precautionary measures have to be taken for the better quality of the ship. The protection also involves fire protection, rain protection, and wind protections.
• Construction: Construction of any building, machinery or vehicles starts only after planning and designing. Construction always depends upon the materials we use for the construction. If the ship is being built using the aluminum and steel, the welded plates have to be rolled, marked, cut and bent as per the drawings or design model made.
Naval Architects laboring by Cataloging Civilizations as Ship Surveyors are betrothed all over the world in gauging the security of ships and marine constructions by the Civilization’s Guidelines and those of high-level governments such as the International Maritime Organization(IMO). Strategies of ships to be made and ultimately grouped with the Civilization are examined, and phases of scheme such as power, firmness, and lifesaving permitted formerly creation.
Through creation, Ship Inspectors perform examinations to safeguard that the excellence of the workmanship and constituents being used is in agreement with the Guidelines and Principles. When the container or construction is in amenity, Ship Inspectors will endure to perform checkups to confirm that some severe faults ascending from action are finished well.
