Brave Souls, Giving Back In A Powerful Way.

By Jenrene

I have blogging work in. It's my first job internationally, and I absolutely love it! It took a long time to get our communications in order but thanks to social media and various forms of communication, its quite possible!

This is Amanda Dotson . Amanda has a very honorable job. She brings babies into the world. I cannot imagine what that's like to help people give birth over and over again. Not physically, anyway. In a way, I guess I help them to birth emotionally, but not physically.

I met Amanda in Texas. She attended a church I also attended and became quite fond of wen I first moved to Denton, Texas. Amanda was often a silent soul. And we didn't communicate a lot, but one of the things I admired about her was just that. She has a quiet, contemplative spirit about herself. I could often tell she was often thinking deeply. And she always had a little smile on her face like she had a deep secret about something really joyful no one else knew anything about. Little did I know, something actually was brewing inside. Amanda and I stayed in touch via social media, and we found ourselves connecting for projects she was working on. It was a pleasure to jump to the task of helping her launch her voice and vision via social media and begin to talk about what she loves:

Personally, I have always admired he concept of midwifery, both spiritually and naturally. If you aren't sure what I mean by 'spiritually', I love the concept because I have spiritually birthed principles of my life and my own character, and my personality my strengths, my insights, and perceptions are all attributed to the work of midwifery. Spiritual midwifery, that is. I have "sisters" who add to who I am as a person, and some of them are featured here in my blog: Red Sea Courage. So if you'd like to dig a little deeper into what I am thinking, please hit the link and visit.

I asked Amanda to describe doula work in a few short sentences. She has said a lot about doula work and the most of what she has said has been that she loves helping bring new life into the world.

I also pray with Amanda . She lives on base in Okinawa Japan, and they don't have church over there like they do over here. It's an honor to serve Gods people in this way and connect with them in the spaces where you can "see" God, but not always feel His nearness.

I believe Amanda's ministry helps me to manage the part of my life that involves helping women develop platforms for their voices, which I truly believe is a personal call I have to this world. I am on a mission to fulfill it, and it feels good to launch it, in another country! Thanks Amanda for trusting me with a part of your vision!
