As we head to the end of July not only are we getting closer to my birthday (yay!) but we’re also getting closer to the start of a new school year for all of you teachers and students alike (or if you’re like me a teacher-student hybrid being). And in my quest to find cool crochet projects I came across this detailed video of how to make an apple coaster. Perfect for that coffee mug you bring to school every day. A little teacher-cliché? Yeah, probably, but it’s still cool… And Yarn Yard the video tutorial maker has several other fruit shaped coasters you can look up on your own.
I really like this tutorial, the accent took a little getting used to but he makes following his instructions and I love the close up shots of the work in progress. I like this especially because you can check and see how you’re doing and see where you’ve made a mistake if a round doesn’t look the way it’s supposed to.
