Borrowed Inspiration for Your Week: Adorable Zombie Edition

By Crossstitchyourheart @TMNienaber

Good morning fellow bloggers!  I can finally say that it feels like spring outside right now and that’s done wonders to boost my spirits.  There’s something about knowing it’s sunny outside, the weather is warm, and reading a book in the hammock weather is right around the corner that makes it easier to get up in the morning and go to work.

Still waiting for the job situation to resolve itself (although I am pleased to inform you that I am still under consideration for the job-to-end-all-jobs, which is a good feeling).   There’s also another job possibility that just came up recently, so who knows where things are going to end up.  I’m a

fan of possibilities.

As it stands right now life is still busy (ridiculously so) and I’m just counting down until I can get a break. This year has been a whirlwind of things happening all at once and as much as I want a job I’m looking forward to the summer so things have a chance to settle down a little bit.  I’m not sure if I’m coming or going half the time and I could use some time to breathe and take a break.

And there’s nothing that says summer (for me anyway) more than horror movies.  As I’ve said before, when the warm weather hits I’m in full horror movie mode.  Which makes this next borrowed inspiration cross stitch so fantastic.

Sadly this item was sold out on Etsy so I can’t give you a price, but iamnotadoll‘s patterns usually cost around $5.40

I think this little zombie is just adorable.  I’d make him, frame him, probably add a name, and display him somewhere prominently in my house.  How can you not love this little guy?

And if you’re not a cross stitch fan, here’s another craft idea to inspire you for the week.  This one would be perfect for the summer:

It’s a backyard chalkboard!  This one is obviously a chalkboard someone hung on their fence, but I wonder if it would be possible to use chalkboard paint on these kinds of fences?  Then your whole yard becomes a canvas.   You could also hang the chalkboard from a tree in the backyard if you don’t have a fence, or a swingset, etc…  How fun would this be?  Not as messy as sidewalk chalk but still just as fun (and less chalk dust in the house).

Well, I hope you’ve all been inspired to go out and do something crafty this week.  (I know I’m looking at my current stitching progress and wondering what happened this week…)

Currently reading “War of the Roses” which I’m hoping to have finished by the end of the week.  But who knows if that’s really going to happen.  I thought I was all caught up with teaching stuff but it seems like there’s just more and more stuff to get done and not enough time to do it.  What I wouldn’t give for a weekend off.
