Bonjour…. from France

We didn’t know whether we wanted to go through the hassle of going to Saint Pierre. Because it is an island owned by France we had to clear in and out of customs. We got boarded by both immigration and customs and all checked out. I’ve been trying out some of my high school French – should have paid more attention in class. Carl and I have both been to France before and we found that Saint Pierre gave more of a warmer greeting than the homeland. Maybe its because they see a lot more English speaking tourists here or maybe because we had 3 miniatures with us. The people are lovely. Our first day out walking we found it to be a ghost town, all  the stores were closed and there were barely any cars and no people around, then we realized it was siesta time. Everything shuts down here between noon and 14:30. This really is a mini France.

We bought some fresh bread, ate at local restaurants and the girls got to hang with other kids that “speak funny”. I even got to have a pastry that was heavenly. What a great place to visit, highly recommended.
