It was a few days shy before summer officially started, yet we were yearning for the beach already. Luckily, we had planned a trip to Bohol, and so we found ourselves booked for a luxurious escape at the beautiful Bluewater Panglao. Read more…
LOCATION
Bluewater Panglao is located in a secluded portion of the island about 45 minutes away from Tagbilaran City. To and from the city airport and pier, the resort may arrange complimentary transfers, while going around the island, they may assign one of their vehicles or a tricycle.
STYLE/CHARACTER
The resort exudes native Filipino feel with its theme and design. It doesn’t go overboard with details; rather, it lets the place speak more for itself—Panglao is a lovely island, after all.
ROOMS
We were billeted in a one-bedroom pool villa, which is spacious at 130 square meters. As the name implies, it features a dipping pool, which is set on a nicely-decorated sundeck and lanai.
The bedroom, as is the resort, is Filipino-inspired in terms of design and feel. Native décors were used to make it look both lively and elegant, and a palette of striking red and earth tones gives the place an inviting and relaxing appeal.
Of course, the room came replete with amenities needed for a great holiday, starting with a comfortable king bed. The bathroom, meanwhile, is as spacious and luxurious as the room.
FACILITIES
The resort has two pool areas, both of which are huge and excellently landscaped. It also boasts of its signature Amuma Spa, which offers a range of traditional therapies.
THE BEACH
The resort is located beachfront, and it does have a small stretch of white sand beach where its guests may take a dip and do the complimentary water activities. Towards the beach are a lounging area and a space for events.
FOOD AND DRINK
Aplaya, the resort’s sole restaurant, serves tasty Filipino food. We loved its adobo rice and lechon kawali, and we enjoyed its wonderful breakfast spreads consisting of mostly local food.
SERVICE
Among the aspects that makes the resort special is service. The friendly and courteous staff surely know how to treat guests right and handle requests well.
VALUE FOR MONEY
With the quality of rooms and the level of service, Bluewater Panglao is good value for money.
