Betaab Valley The Betaab Valley requires no specific introduction or description.
It is well renowned for the amazing picturesque it offers. Positioned at a considerable distance of about 15kms from Pahalgam in the Anantnag district, the Betaab valley is the most visited valley of the northern state of Jammu and Kashmir. 

The valley has a lot to boast about its beauty and the visitors have a lot to witness about its beauty. The valley resides on the way to the very auspicious Amarnath temple amid Chandanwari and Pahalgam. Besides, the valley captivates innumerable tourists throughout the year.

The tourism importance of the Betaab Valley arises from the fact that the valley has been the favorite of our very own Bollywood since the 60s. The valley gained immense popularity due to the super hit Bollywood movie Betaab starring Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh. The viewers were awe struck on seeing such a stunning site in the movie. 

This is one main reason why the valley is so famous. Bollywood movies have been contributing since time immemorial in the promotion of the scenic beauty of India and the stardom of the Betaab Valley is one such example. Lately, after three decades, superstar Ranbir Kapoor was found shooting for his remarkable movie, Rockstar. 

Several awesome movies such as Aarzoo, Kashmir Ki Kali, Jab Jab Phool Khile, Kabhie Kabhie, Silsila, Satte Pe Satta and Roti were shot here. Thus, one can conclude that Bollywood has heavily contributed in the popularity of the valley. 

Besides, the Betaab Valley abounds with lush green surroundings. Encircled by snow capped mountains and thick pine and deodar jungles, the valley is the orifice of River Sheshnag. There is a spectacular garden in the valley which speaks a lot about the grandeur

Recently, it has been utilized as a trekking base for those who want to explore and know more about the lofty mountains. The water of the Betaab Valley is used by the locals for drinking. Thus we can imagine the significance of the valley among the locals. 

Tourist Attractions around Betaab Valley

The Betaab Valley is blessed with a number of tourist attractions around it. Some of them are mentioned below. Amarnath, Anantang The very famous Amarnath Cave is one of the most sacred sites of the Hindus. The cave lights up with the chants of Har Har Mahadev. 

This is a place where Lord Shiva portrayed the secret of immortality of life to his beloved wife, Parvati. The place attracts numerous tourists every year and is flooded with devotees between the months of May and October. Sonamarg Residing in the lap of the mighty Himalayas, Sonamarg is one of the most beautiful hill stations of the Kashmir Valley. One can enjoy the wonders of nature in Sonamarg. 

Dachigam National Park The Dachigam National Park is one of the most amazing places of the Betaab Valley. Located at a distance from 22kms from the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, the Dachigam National Park proves to be a heaven for wildlife lovers. In addition, one can also opt for Lidder River, Sheshnag Lake, Avantiswami Temple, Martand Sun Temple and Ziarat of Baba Reshi.


Best time to visit
One can visit the evergreen beauty of the Betaab Valley between the months of April and November as the Betaab Valley reaches its zenith of glory during this phase.
