The times when we had to wait till we get home to watch our favorite shows and movies on TV is now over, thanks to smartphones and tablets. Now, there are apps that allow us to watch movies and TV shows from almost anywhere. Some people even consider paying for these apps but, I usually take the free way. These are some of the coolest free apps that I use to kill time while I’m on the way to work. Check them out.
BBC iPlayer
This is probably the best free app for watching live TV. Using BBC iPlayer you get to enjoy a lot of popular shows on the go, browse the schedule, and many more. This app had few issues before but after the recent update, it’s now much more user friendly than before.
Get the app from Apple App Store or Google Play
Crackle
If you’re a huge movie addict, like me, then this is a must have app for your smartphone. Crackle puts hundreds of awesome movies, at your fingertips for free. The ads in between shows can be a little annoying but, since the app is free, its a small price to pay.
The app is free at Apple App Store and Google Play
B-Movies
This app is not as cool as Crackle and doesn’t have many new movie titles. But, it’s free and has a considerably good amount of free / legal stuff to watch. There are movies (mostly classic) and documentaries in a wide range of topics. This definitely helped to kill some time when I had nothing else to do.
The app is available on Apple App Store and Google Play
The CW Network app
This awesome app lets you access awesome TV shows from CW like Arrow, Gossip Girl, Beauty and the Beast and many others, for free. Unlike other crappy apps, you can freely enjoy full episodes on this app. Only downside is that you have to deal with commercials. But hey, it’s free.
Get the app from Google Play for free
Netflix
Probably the best app for watching both movies and TV shows. Streaming is good and the video quality is also great in Netflix app than any other. Only issue is that you have to pay for the membership. If you have few bucks, burn it in this app and I assure you, it’ll be worth it.
The app is free at Google Play and Apple App Store
If you know about other great free stuff, let us know in the comments.
