Do you love the feeling of sand between your toes but hate flying? And most of all… Would you brave the British weather for your wedding day? Here’s Tracey with some ideas for intrepid UK seaside-inspired brides and grooms!

British beach wedding ideas

Say ‘Beach wedding’ to anyone and they automatically think of a beautiful clear blue sea and sandy beach with palm trees in a far flung place. But what if I told you that the possibilty of getting married on a beach in good old Blighty might not be so far away?

News reports say that officials in Bournemouth are applying for planning permission to build a luxury beach hut that will be a chapel, meaning that this will be the first beach venue in England and Wales. So if it all goes ahead and you are one of the first brides to get your toes in the sand, or even if you just fancy a beach themed wedding what goodies can you get ?

Beach wedding jewellery

A friend of mine got married last year and although it wasn’t on a beach she chose a beach style theme as her and her hubby to be were very keen on the whole surfing scene. She wore a gorgeous Ian Stuart mermaid style dress and her groom wore a suit with the obligatory surfer flip flops.

She wanted bridal jewellery with crystals to match the dress but also pearls to fit in with the sea theme and a starfish …too much to ask? No, luckily for me Swarovski do a perfect crystal starfish pendant, I made her a trial necklace and she loved it!

She looked absolutely stunning on her big day as you can see from the picture and the necklace design now named the ‘Paradise’ is available to buy from my website www.bridaldesignsweddingjewellery.co.uk

Flowers for your table

Even if you can’t actually marry on the beach quite yet you can still have your reception overlooking the sea.

From a traditional fish and chip supper to a formal sit down meal a centrepiece like this from Fuchsia Flower Design would fit in with either, look at the reflection of the seaside in the glass bowl!

Seaside wedding favours

If you look closely at this other pic of the same wedding courtesy of Fuschia Flowers you will see tiny sticks of rock on the table, running through them are the names of the bride and groom and they also had personalised labels, what a brilliant idea!

There are loads of options out there if you have a browse through the internet, it’s a bit chilly at the moment so put your feet up with a cuppa and dream of sunny beaches while searching for your ideal accessories!
