Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema, is one of the few people in world football who are happy Cristiano Ronaldo left the La Liga side.
Ronaldo left Real for Juventus in the summer to the shock of the World of football as many had expected the La Liga side to keep hold of the five time Balon d’Or winner at all cost.
But according to Le Journal du Dimanche, Benzema is against the world on this as he is happy the Portuguese left.
A person close to the French striker spoke to the paper claiming that: “Karim has always been considered as the helped of Cristiano Ronaldo. When he left, Benzema thought he could replace Ronaldo showing that he was the boss in Madrid.”
Going by his performance in Sunday’s El Clasico, Benzema is not in any way close to filling the shoes left by Ronaldo.
Apart from being a non-threat to Barcelona’s defence which comprised the inexperienced Lenglet, Benzema missed a number of good chances even as he failed to get himself into good scoring positions.
