Believe in the Power of “You Can”

Believe in the Power of-You Can-

There have been so many times in my life when I was told, “You can’t”.

  • “You can’t go to school to become an auto mechanic.”
  • “You can’t drive your own motorcycle. You won’t be able to hold it up.”
  • “You can’t race a car at the drag strip.”
  • “You can’t build you own business and be your own boss.”

Well, I’m tired of the “You can’t”s and I’m telling you “I CAN!”.

You have to WANT it!

In order to prove someone wrong, you have to WANT it. You have to want it so badly that you can taste it!

Out of those four (4) above, and yes I was really told all 4, I accomplished two (2) and am working on my third (3).

In order to prove someone wrong, you have to WANT it. #lifelessonsClick To Tweet

I wanted to own and drive my own motorcycle. At 22 years old, I accomplished that and loved every minute of it. All it took was someone who thought “I could” and showed me “How”! Yes, I even passed my driving test and got my Motorcycle endorsement.

I wanted to race a car at the quarter mile so at 30 some years old, I bought a car, started restoring it, my hubs and a few friends helped make performance modifications, and I hit the quarter mile!

I wanted to become an auto mechanic however, my Father would not help me pay to go to school for training. I eventually found a different career but would still have loved to have been a mechanic.

Fast forward

I want to build my own business and be my own boss!

If you follow along with me on Facebook, you know what I’m up to. I’ve finally made the decision to put a plan into motion.

I’m building my own business. I will be my own boss.

With over 28 years as an Administrative Assistant, at various different levels including Executive, I’ve decided that I want to bring that business to my home. A Virtual Assistant can be many things. In my case, I’m hoping to offer services that make me happy and I know I am good at.

  • Maintaining calendars and scheduling
  • Email Management
  • Creation of documents, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.
  • Customer Service
  • Acting as a liaison between the client and customers
  • Website and Blog Management
  • Proofreading and/or editing content
  • Promoting content or products on Social Media
  • Create and Maintain Social Media pages
  • Create a new website or blog based on your ideas
  • And more!

Being I still have a full-time job, I plan on starting my VA business on a part-time basis. Once I feel I’m established enough and have a good repour with people, I will turn my Corporate America career in on a Work-at-Home career.

By the way, I’m super excited, yet scared about the actual leap.

I Have Not Failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. ~Thomas Edison
