Being Foodies In Estremoz – Part 2

By Ingridd @cosytraveler

After a good night's sleep, Lars had a surprise for me; we would spend the first half of the day... wine tasting!

Here we are at Herdade das Servas, just outside the town of Estremoz. Or as their website says:

The Serrano Mira family covers a vineyard heritage of 300 hectares of vineyards, aged between 20 and 60 years old and planted in plots using the best cultivation techniques. In the red varieties we've the Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Trincadeira, among others, and in the white grape varieties Roupeiro, Antão Vaz, Rabo-de-Ovelha and Arinto.

Lars and I tasted a handful of reds and one rosé. The wines were delicious! After we had bought a small stock, we went to their restaurant.

Here, Lars and I were in for a treat! First, some appetizers.

The appetizers were so big that they served as a starter. I had cod for my main dish, whereas Lars went for roast beef with all the trimmings.

Dessert was finished before we realized we hadn't taken any pictures... Oops!

One last look at the exterior...

Check out their website for more information about the vineyard and all their activities.

And stay tuned for our Christmas special!
