When I first start blogging, I was hugely into high-street, cheap, budget makeup. I still am to an extent, I’ll happily spend hours in Boots and Superdrug, but I also have a passion for more high-end purchases.
There’s something about the shiny packaging, the ease of application, that just makes them better. And to be honest, I have no regrets on anything I have splurged on so far as it simply outperforms cheaper products. My eyes no longer itch when I wear eyeshadow thanks to Urban Decay. Blusher doesn’t break me out thanks to Nars. And my lips have never been in better condition, despite always, always, always wearing lipstick – a major thanks to MAC and Nuxe for that!
This little bit of high-end was a twenty-first birthday present from my parents, and it is beautiful. I’ve worn it most days, yet there’s barely a dent in the surface. A quick thirty second swipe using this and I’ll instantly look put together – my makeup glows and stays put, there’s a subtle light on my high points, and the bronze shade adds enough color to make me look a little more alive, whilst being natural enough to contour too.
The powder is so finely milled it’s virtually undetectable on the skin, and the shades are pale enough (which is surprising for me!). Yet despite this, the coverage is decent – on a good day, or a lazy day, I can wear just this and concealer and still not scare anyone. I just feel so much better when I’m wearing this – and I know it lasts. It’s 11pm as I write this. I put my makeup on at 7am and it’s still there…I really should go and take it off now!
