Like most of the other services, they send about 4-5 samples each month for a fee of $12 monthly, or slightly discounted when you buy 3 or more months at a time. In the two boxes I have received, there have been generous samples, some full size products and some decent foil packets. By decent, I mean that the product is pre-moistened and must be in a foil packet to avoid drying out. For the most part I've been happy with the sample sizes, and there has been a variety of makeup, skin care, hair care and body care. If you are interested in trying Beauty Box 5, click here to join!
Now, for April's box! These boxes do not have a theme, but I've never much cared about the themes other boxes seem to use as a gimmick. I'd rather just try out good products!
The first items are from La Fresh and come in foil packets due to the moisture content, so I let it slide. ;) They are Instant Body Smoother wet wipes. I've never seen a product quite like this before, so that's intriguing, though I can't say I'm overly excited about them either. There are 2 biodegradable moisturizing aromatherapy wipes.
The next item is also quite unusual, but I really like this idea. It is from Minxxette and is simple called The Brush Hanger. It is for doing precisely that - handing brushes to dry! There is a slot that holds a small brush (I believe they are available for various size brushes) with a suction cup on the back and a hook at the top. You could hang this, or just stick it to your mirror while your brush air dries - bristles down, of course. Cool idea, though I would need about 100 of them!
Next is what would appear to be a full-size package of Oil-Absorbing Facial Tissues from Jean Pierre. I've never heard of the brand, but these are great for throwing in your handbag. Always handy! :)
For the makeup portion of the box, there is a Illusion Lip Enhancing Kit from Model Co. This is basically a nude lip liner, but it is also supposed to help plump lips! (It retails for $20 and I'm fairly certain this is a full size!)
And last, but not least, is an Organic Mineral Eyeshadow from Brazen Cosmetics in the shade "Charmed." I wouldn't ordinarily pick this kind of pale green shade, which is actually kind of nice. I always like trying new colors and this is a great way to do it!
I really like the Beauty Box 5 boxes so far, but it may simply be the novelty of something different! Either way, it's great alternative to BirchBoxes recent offerings! If you are interested in subscribing to Beauty Box 5 for $12/month, you can sign up here!
Let me know what you guys think of this box. I can post March's box as well if you'd like more examples.
