Beauty And The Beach 2

By Brightowngirl @Brightowngirl
You may remember last year that Travel Supermarket ran a competition for bloggers called Beauty And The Beach. Well they are doing it again this year and I thought I would take part. If you would like to read more about it, check out the site here.
I decided to go for a casual beach look, so lots of bronzer and wavy hair, I tend to keep things basic when I am on the beach.
Make Up.

Beauty And The Beach 2The most important thing for me when you are on the beach is SPF, a great one for oily skin is Superdrugs, Solait Mattifying Face Sun Liquid SPF 30. This gives you a high protection as well as leaving the skin matte. I also used Ginvera's BB Cream all over my face and neck as it gives me a bit of coverage as well as some sun protection, this is a great one for topping up during the day. I then cover any blemishes with the Collection Lasting Perfecting Concealer.
Whilst I leave that to set I run some of the HD Brow Set through my brows to give them some definition. These powders do not budge so perfect for a long day in the sun.
For the eyes I apply a little bit of the By Terry Touche Veloutee to cover the dark circles. I also use the Pixi Lid Last Shadow Pen in Shell Sheen all over the lid and the color Brun Beam to line the lower lash line. These pencils stay put all day. To finish the eyes I add lashings of Clinique High impact Mascara to give me natural but defined lashes.
I then dust some NARS Laguna Bronzer all over and apply a little bit of Benefit Coralista to the cheeks to add a bit of color and sheen.
Lastly I add a slick of Laura Mercier Lip Gloss in sweetheart on the lips.
Hair

Beauty And The Beach 2I love the look of beach hair, so after washing my hair I sprayed lots of Sea Salt Spray into the length, then blasted it with the hair dryer for a few minutes. I then took a section of hair from each side, twisted it and pinned it back with some bobby pins. This just took it off my face and gives the look a little something.
Nails

Beauty And The Beach 2For the nails I wanted to go for something fairly simple but didn't want to go for just one color. I decided to pick out 5 blue/green polishes a create an ombre effect. I just layed the colours out from lightest to darkest and applied them in that order. Like I said it is really simple but looks a bit different. After the polish had dried I applied a coat of the Seche Vite Top Coat, this make the polish last so much longer.
So that is my beach look, good luck to everyone else who has entered.
As part of the competition you can nominate 5 other bloggers to do this, so I would like to nominate Kat from Tales Of A Pale Face, Aqeela from Diary Of A Makeup Geek, Evelyn from We Were Raised By Wolves, Fran from Been There, Done That, Got The Lipstick and Zoe from Zoe Newlove.
