First things first, this was really hard to photograph, I think the top photo shows the polish off the best. Some of you may have already heard about the Nails inc Concrete polishes well this is a highstreet dupe for it that I decided to give a try as I really wasn't sure about the concept of it.
When I first heard about these polishes, I just couldn't get my head round them. Why would you want grainy, uneven nails? The beauty blogger inside me started to get curious though so I decided to pick up the Barry M Textured Polish in Kingsland Road just to see what all the fuss was about.
This is a matte textured polish that once dry has a grainy feel to it. (I added a top coat, the reason why it doesn't look so matte in the picture) This needed two coats I found to get a true opaque look and it dried pretty quick. Apparently if you apply a top coat you loose the effect of the polish but as you can see it didn't seem to effect mine. Even with a top coat it still feels rough to the touch.
I am still not sure how I feel about this, to me nails should be smooth and tidy. In some ways this just looks like you can't apply your nail polish properly. Saying that I kind of like the idea as it is something different, so for me I am still on the fence on this one. I don't think I will be rushing out to buy any more just yet though.
Also this was fairly easy to remove, I thought it would be a pain like glitter polish but it wasn't too bad. So that gives it more brownie points for me.
I'd really like to hear your thoughts on this polish whether you have tried it not?
