Juicy fresh figs with crisp smokey bacon, a versatile dish served as a appetizer or side.
One of my favorite food combinations is sweet and salty. I think it hits all the notes that I love.
I have been waxing poetically about my friend Lisa’s fig tree so I have been able to enjoy some figs. The only thing with figs is that they have a very short shelf life. So unless you are going to dry them or put them in a jam, you better hurry up quick. This is why I decided to do this recipe with fresh figs. You certainly could use dried, but when you can get them fresh why would you want to?
