Back To Wyoming

Back To Wyoming

Well after many weeks of no internet I am finally back up and running! Oh, sweet internet how I have missed you. I will very much enjoy reading emails on a 22 inch screen now instead of a 4X2 inch screen.

I am also happy to be back to my blog! So many things have happened that I need to play a little catch up now. So I want to go back a few weeks and relive (*shutter) THE MOVE.

December 29th was the day we pulled out of the drive way with all our things once again shoved (literally) into a u-haul and into any nook or cranny we could find in the vehicles. The kids were excited but a little saddened from having to say goodbye to their friends as was I.

Back To Wyoming

So we said goodbye to cold and flat and lovely North Dakota. Yes, I said lovely. We learned to love and appreciate this land. (And all my dear friends that are in it.)

We had a very long drive and task ahead of us. It is no small thing to move a family of 7 across a few states. So for 2 days almost solid this was all I saw.

Back To Wyoming

There were times that I was so bored I found myself having conversation with this couple. Oh, you found affordable careful help to move! How on earth did you do that? We must have used different companies.

(Driving for days can make you do crazy things)

I can say though that once we got into Wyoming my spirits (and craziness) was lifted with the feeling of home and the breathtaking views.

Back To Wyoming

I mean no offense but North Dakota does not have a view like this!

I love my mountains.

After long traveling days we finally reached our wonderful new town. You would think this would bring much satisfaction and happiness but mostly I was dreading the work that was ahead of me. Shane and I loaded the U-haul by ourselves and I was really not looking forward to unloading it.

(I knew how much junk was in there.)

The great thing that I had forgotten was that I had family that lived here and if family is good for anything they are fabulous at lending a hand when you need to unload a giant u-haul.

(Thank you family! You know who you are and I am sorry you cannot deny it.)

We had many hands at work.

With all the help we were able to unload very quickly. We felt so blessed by everyone pitching in. My grandparents even brought over a big meal for us to eat. That was such a great bonus!

So after we got it all unloaded I became a bit overwhelmed by yet another task.

UNPACKING….

Back To Wyoming

And more unpacking. I will say the good thing about a house full of boxes and tubs and randomly placed furniture is that children can play hide-and-seek for hours.

Back To Wyoming

Like in this photo, Jonah is hiding in this mess. You can’t see him but he is there.

So after a long few days Shane I managed to get the house together.

The organizing of a large amount of stuff into a small space is my specialty.

Our things all found a place (mostly) and we are very comfortable in this little home for the time being.

He is a little peek at how it looks now.

Our kitchen

I did not pick up for this photo shoot so please don’t mind all our boxes and cups and random things on the counter.

The dining area is in the kitchen. I love the ease of the table being close.

This is also our new school area. Notice the chalkboard that was given to me as Christmas gift from my mom and her husband Jim. (They made it!!) I adore it! That big ruler we bought many years ago and have measured the children on it as they grow taller. It is only 6 feet though and I have a sneaking suspicion that we will have to add onto it later.

The living room.

 Office area.

This spot still needs some work and organizing but it will get there.

Back To Wyoming

I love this little built-in that is in the entry way. Prefect for cowboy hats!

Bathroom

Notice the little potty seat and stool that is a whole other story. (Did I mention I do not like potty training even a tiny bit. That is at least until it’s done)

Back To Wyoming

My craft area!

Much smaller than needed but bigger than in my last house.

I am making baby steps towards a whole room just for my crafts someday. (I hope)

 Stairway to…Heaven??

Nope just to my kid’s room.

Back To Wyoming

This is their room. It’s actually quite spacious. Yes, they all share a room and no, it won’t be forever and no, I don’t think it’s absurd. (There is a lot more people living in a lot less)

So we are now officially moved in and unpacked. It is a very nice feeling to have all that behind me. Adventurous as it was I am glad to be snug and warm and comfortable in our new place.

(At least until we move again.)
