Liver Cirrhosis: Cirrhosis is a chronic condition of the liver. It is an advanced stage of fibrosis of the liver which is caused by liver diseases and some liver conditions such as chronic alcoholism and hepatitis.

Causes of Liver Cirrhosis

The various diseases and conditions which damage your liver and over time lead to the development of liver cirrhosis.

  7. Itching on the skin
  8. Redness in the hand palms
  9. Confusion

  11. Jaundice
  12. Accumulation of fluid in the abdomen
  13. Blood vessels appear Spiderlike on the skin
  14. In women, menstrual problem
  15. In men, loss of sex energy, breast enlargement

Ayurvedic Concept for Liver and Liver Cirrhosis

In Ayurveda, the liver is called as Yakrit. Pitta is directly linked to the liver. If pitta aggravated it leads to liver disorders. Excessive production of bile or a disturbance in the bile flow causes aggravation of pitta, which affects the enzyme activities or Agni which is responsible for digestion, absorption, and metabolism.

According to Ayurveda liver cirrhosis, is considers under the complications of "Kamala". The Kamala disease has identical signs and symptoms as liver cirrhosis. If Kamala is due to ascites is known as Kumbha Kamala and fever is called Halimak.
