Beauty Boxes in India
Do you remember when Beauty boxes were kind of rage in US and UK, and India was still waiting for its own Beauty Box? Then,
1- Blissocovered came forward to help us. The samples were pretty good and we loved the lilac box they sent. Price - Rs. 799 (approx.) BEAUTY BOX SCAM!!
2 - Glossybox was first to come to India all the way from UK and they probably returned without giving winners their free Glossyboxes and they never answered mails after that. Though they sent me an update that the launch date needed to be improvised but they would definitely send away the boxes they had promised as Giveaway. Their promises were glossy and slippery like a tongue that lies quite often. I found it very unprofessional!! BEAUTY BOX SCAM!!
3- Velvette is this third company to launch their beauty boxes successfully. Introductory price is just Rs. 399, they send 3+1 complimentary product in each box. I read on a social networking site that they sent Colorbar and Chambor which are drugstore brands in India. Speaking about Chambor, it's only available in malls so far. (Do let me know if you were able to find Chambor in some local stores or super markets). My first Velvette box was satisfactory which included Clarins serum, a fragrance, a pencil lipstick and a TBS conditioner.
4- I was recently contacted by Blisscovered team saying that they are back. (BUT NOT WITH BANG). Because the new "Blisscovered" is not as attractive as the beauty box yet you can score some accessories there. And I remember that they sent me a Chambor pencil eyeliner in my first and last Blisscovered box. They are still giving away those pencil liners.
5- As a buyer, I am still not convinced by Beauty Box Business in India and I distrust the company in terms of stability, WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get), choice of brands and customer service. I would recommend spending even a rupee on Beauty Boxes in India after only doing a lot of research. Not to forget "Velvette" has now firm feet in this field and you can try with them.
6- The most popular Beauty Box products are Clarins, CK perfumes and spa products.
7- Please ensure that you are very careful while choosing the answers to your beauty questions asked by the Beauty Box brands. It would not only help you receive products good for your skin/hair type but it will help you raise your queries in firm voice if Beauty Box companies mess up while assorting a box for you.
8- Do not forget to check the expiry date of the products received. (This is what I am most careful about.)
9- Though the nature of this business has left a negative impact, the idea is worth the praise no matter where it started. This gives an access to those products which you would normally think twice or thrice before investing. It helps you find a right high-end product that suits your skin.
10- Once you have found out the right product, do not forget to check out your nearest retail shop for that brand or the website before you buy the full product. You have another option of buying the full product at the website you received your sample products from on discounted price. Choose what you find convenient.
