By GhayathriHello everyone!

Hope you all had a great day! How did your new year celebrations go? Mine was pretty boring, the maximum I could do was stay up late, wish my best buddies and go back to sleep :-( No party, no songs, no dancing, no makeup, no special food *sigh* Anyway, let me not bore you all with my ranting, let’s move on to the product on the testing table (Do I sound like a chemistry professor? Gee thanks! :D), its Avon Simply Pretty Colorlast Lipstick in Plumberry!

The shade is aptly named, it is a plum+berry shade, more plum less berry (if that makes any sense :P) Definitely not my kind of color when worn to full intensity, makes me look mature (which I’m not, I assure you!) but if applied lightly, it looks good. Even when applied lightly it hides the lip pigmentation quite well. Needless to say it scores full marks in the pigmentation department.

The packaging is cute, looks like a cheaper version of Avon Glazewear lipstick. It packs in only 2g of product which is good news for lipstick lovers like me (can you imagine someone who can finish a 4.5g lipstick? Nope. A 2g lipstick? More probable right? :-)). The price isn't cheap but since it is mostly available on offer for a lesser price I’m not complaining.

The finish is semi-matte initially. It stays for 5 hours without any food, disappears in 3 hours if you have a heavy meal in-between. So it has great staying power and pigmentation BUT (yes, there is a huge but :P) it dries out my lips as time passes. It is very creamy in texture and applies smoothly. No tugging, bleeding or feathering. It fades evenly, however it does transfer.

Final Word:It transfers and if you have dry lips, prep it before applying this. Else it clings to dry patches. Other than these two I've no complaints with this one. Get it if you like the shade, you won’t be disappointed. :-)
