At The Waterside

Summer…

One of the ingredients of a successful summer trip – at least for me – is being on a beach, preferably a sandy beach. I don’t have to be there 2 weeks in a row, a couple of days can be enough for me. It’s not about sunbathing nor obtaining the perfect tan. I simply love the feeling of entering a beach and my sandals sinking in the sand. I love to take of my shoes and to walk around on my bare feet.  That silky soft feeling of sand beneath your feet and between your toes. Almost as good as discovering and photographing new places!

And Lars and I both love being at the waterside as well: an ocean, a sea, a lake, a river, … I actually love to be near water in all seasons, but summer has the advantage that you can go for a swim. I am a real water baby and even taught myself to swim. Sure, you can go to a swimming pool, but it’s not the same thing.

Anyway, after having seen the Isted Lion, we walked on a narrow road, going down to the harbor. Lars and I continued a little bit further, and soon we found ourselves on a very narrow sandy beach. I got excited when I saw the small waves of the Wannsee coming and going and when I heard the movement of the water.

There were almost no people around. The joggers had disappeared, so I had all the perfect opportunity to take as many shots as possible. While I was busy with my camera and zooming in on some details, I suddenly saw a black creature moving towards me… It took me some time to realize that it was actually a dog, having fun in the water!
