With less than 6 months before the release of the anticipated Assassin’s Creed film featuring Michael Fassbender, 20th Century Fox is getting ready to kick it into high gear and start showing the goods. Today, the Twitter account for the film released two new pictures for the upcoming film along with the film’s tagline, “We work in the dark to serve the light.”
The images show Fassbender in both the past and the present as he is playing the dual roles of assassin Callum Lynch and his ancestor Aguilar from 15th Century Spain during the Inquisition. Thanks to the Animus, Lynch will be able to access memories from his ancestors and gain fighting abilities. Although the film has the look of the video games, it is not going to be a direct adaptation, but rather exist within the same world as the beloved game. The film will be released December 21, 2016.
