Are Updates Always Better?

By Bren @Virtual_Bren

Ever since the demise of Google Reader, I have been on a mission to find my perfect reader. It’s been over a year and I still have yet to find one.

I have, however, been using Bloglovin’ and Feedly but using two (2) readers can be quite confusing at time.

I use Bloglovin’ a lot on my phone. It’s easy to read posts, share them, and Like them.

Are Updates Always Good?

Imagine my surprise the other day when I visited Bloglovin’ on the Web and saw this!

Are Updates Always Good?

Save? When did my wonderful LIKE button turn into a SAVE button? Have you noticed this update? Previously, my home screen would look like this:

Are Updates Always Good?

See that awesome little LIKE button? Now, it’s gone!

I searched Google in hopes of finding out the skibbies on this change and I still have yet to find anything announcing the change! Maybe I haven’t dug deep enough or maybe I should Bing it instead.

So now we have a SAVE button. This could come in handy as an alternative to my beloved Pocket, right? It could be a worthwhile tool imo.

What happens when we use SAVE on Bloglovin’?

Just this, the article is Saved in a specific area on Bloglovin’.

Are Updates Always Good?

See that? Go to your dashboard, hit the drop down, and there is an option for Saved Posts! From there you can read any post that you Saved on Bloglovin’! Handy tool, right? I still miss the Like button however, was it really that useful before? Or was it like the Facebook Like button where we just click it, to click it?

The next update I saw was more options on sorting your main feed.

Are Updates Always Good?

Nice options to have IF you use Bloglovin’ on the Web.

Now I did notice that my mobile app has yet to update so I am still showing the LIKE button on it. Bloglovin’, when will you roll out the mobile update?

Now that I’ve shown you a few updates to Bloglovin’, I’m wondering your thoughts.

If you’re a Bloglovin’ fan, will you be a fan of this new SAVED button?
