
Dubai has one of the world's lowest crime rates
Our amazing Dubai has one of the world's lowest crime rates, and in 2018 was ranked the eighth-safest city in the world. The Security Industry Regulatory Agency classified the crimes into six categories. These crimes include theft, forced robbery, domestic burglary, fraud, sexual assault and abuse, and criminal damages.
As per Gulf News, Dubai Police stated that the crime in Dubai is reduced by 15% during 2017. However the cases of drugs operation increased by eight percent. Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, hailed the force which solved 86% of criminal cases.

Drug-related cases drop
Drug cases have also declined in the past 5 years, from 15 per 100,000 population down to 14.3 in 2017, while human trafficking crimes has recorded the lowest rates in the world, dropping from 0.2 in 2013 to 0.1 in 2017.
Al Mansouri noted that the Dubai Police is one of the first forces in the UAE to establish the anti-crime department, besides special security teams to monitor hotspots and detect security gaps - such as abandoned homes and cars - around the emirate and report about it. The police then take action to prevent any kind of crimes in these spots.
The police officer noted that the security authorities in Dubai are working according to a future foresight strategy on security, making it the safest place in the world as per all indicators, such as an enhanced sense of security and changing the stereotypes about police personnel.
Despite the emirate's rapid expansion, the Dubai Police is proactively working to prevent international crimes that affect the UAE, such as drug dealing and cybercrimes. The legal legislation in the country is one of the strongest globally, acting as a deterrent to those who attempt tampering with its security structure, Al Mansouri stated.
Dubai Police test-drove hoverbikes
The flying motorcycles are made by Russian company Hoversurf. The hoverbike would let police monitor traffic and large areas and get to emergencies quickly. It seats one and can fly for 30-40 minutes.
The bike can also send a live video feed. The Dubai police placed a 20-foot flying limit on the bike even though they think it could fly even higher in the future. They hope to start using hoverbikes in the next two years.

As per Khalij Times Newspaper, the serious violent crime rate has been reduced to 38%in past five years.
