Apple Cider Sangria

041Where has the time gone? I cant believe that this year is almost over. Why is it the next couple of weeks for me are the most hectic for the year? No matter how hard I try I take on to much and spend way to much.

This drink came out of necessity. With Christmas around the corner I thought I would need to get creative. In my pantry I had a bottle of Riesling, some leftover apple cider and some apple schnapps in the liquor cabinet. I also had some apples and pears in a big bowl on my table ready to be eaten.

So when we had relatives come into town I improvised and made this. It stretched that wine and sure tasted good. The relatives raved about it.

Apple Cider Sangria

Ingredients:

1 bottle white wine (Riesling Pinot Grigio)

2 1/2 cups apple cider

1 cup ginger ale

2 apples chopped

2 pears chopped

1/2 cup apple schnapps

Directions:

Combine wine, cider, ginger ale and schnapps. Stir to combine. Add apples or other fruit you may like. Refrigerate for an hour or more before serving.
