In Ireland there is a club, dimly lit, and smoke filled. The beer here is cheap, because this gem is for the locals. Inside, a new generation, one that is unbound from its past and unsure of its future. They connect here for release, direction, and redirection and performing this place, I imagine, is Analogue Wave.

Analogue Wave - N.L.G.W.V.

This duo from Dublin consisting of Andrew Sneyd, (producer), and Del Chaney, (singer/songwriter), combine elements of dub, rock and electronic to create a truly refreshing and relaxing sound. Their debut album N.L.G.W.V. showcases the duo’s flexibility as producers and poets, mixing a wide variety of orchestral, and electronic sounds with soulful vocals, creating the perfect chill out listening music. Imagine Bono and Marley growing up in today’s world of technology and you can glimpse some of the vibe and emotion portrayed in this album.

What really impresses about this album are the thick instrumentals being used in so many different styles. Deep layers of orchestral strings, guitar, synths, bass and much more stack on top of each other giving the listener something new to hear every time they repeat the song. Perfectly floating on top you have the voice of the poet Chaney, whose vocal style and lyrics fuse and compliment the instrumentals perfectly so that both worlds do not intrude the other.

‘Shine’

My favorite tune from their album, ‘Shine’, demonstrates the duo’s versatility as a group globalized by genres from around the world but uncommitted to format. You’re not sure whether to light a joint or pour a beer, but you do know that it’s working, somehow.

Breathing new air from a place of tradition, this duo has only just begun bringing their style to the world, and they will continue to grow their style and further come into their own.

Putting the Dub in Dublin, I present, Analogue Wave.
