Singalila
National Park which is located at an altitude of 7000 ft above the sea level is
one of the most renowned and celebrated National park within the glides of
Darjeeling district of West Bengal. Lying somewhere down the enormous beauty of
Singalila ridge many traveler walk here to reach the point of Sandakphu.
History
It
was in 1986 when government of India decided the site to be the Wildlife
sanctuary and with that initiative it was transformed into Indian National park
in 1992.
Biomes
Nestled
within the ambiance of Indomalaya eco zone the Biomes that corresponds the
ecosystem leads to the formation of green ambiance which is acknowledge by the
presence of Eastern Himalayan subalpine conifer forests, mixed forest biome,
subtropical pine forest and many more.
Flora
Within

explore the colossal of nature. Here you will witness the blooms of thick
bamboo, Oak, Magnolia, Rhododendron and many more.
Fauna

Mammals which includes the species of Red Panda, Leopard, Cat, Wild Boar,
Barking deer and many more.
Although you will witness tiger occasionally but
the dearth of Prey has really decreased their numbers.

it comes to species of birds here you will see 120 vivid species and origins of
birds and amongst them the most famous and renowned are Scarlet Minivet, Kalij
Pheasant, Blood Pheasant, Satyr Tragopan, Brown and Fulvous Parrotbills,
Rufous-vented Tit, and Old World babblers. Beside that here you will come
across the neat beauty of migratory birds.
Best Time to Visit
If
you planning to come here then there are two great season when you can enjoy
the course of beautiful Singalila park, the one is during the perks of spring
when all the beautiful flowers starts to blossom to decorate the lights of the
park and another one is just after monsoon when the park kisses the golden
wonders of clear blue sky.
But make sure not to pay visit during the month of
monsoon because during the season of Monsoon the park will be officially
closed.

Perched
perfectly within the range of Himalaya trekking, camping and birding would be
the best thing you can try to do.

Meghma beside that there are stunning trekkers huts within the surroundings of
Tonglu, Gairibans, Sandakphu, Phalut and Kala Pokhri.

with all the neighbouring sites like Siliguri, Sukna, Kurseong, Tung,
Darjeeling, ghoom, Tonglu, Manebhnajang and many more.

Rail: the nearest railway station to Singalila National Park is New Jalpaiguri.

Air: the nearest airport is Bagdogra which is located at a distance of Bagdogra
airport which is located at a distance of approximately 13 km.
