aloo paratha recipe- punjabi aloo paratha recipe with step by step pictures.Here comes a simple yet soft paratha recipe with potatoes with bursting flavors inside.This one is the no onion no garlic recipe and if you want to add onions in the recipe saute it and add it.

I already shared aloo pepper paratha recipe which i made with pepper powder in the stuffing and i made with maida or all purpose flour.Aloo paratha is one of our family favorite especially my younger sister asked me once to try it out and told that her Punjabi friend made these parathas one time during get together.She explained the recipe during the time when i tried this for very first time and now its one of our favorites in routine.I passed this recipe to one of my friends and she makes this paratha monthly twice in her home for the whole family.

this recipe is the classic one and you can make it within minutes and you can also alter the spicyness there in stuffing and this tastes wonderful with dal itself.Serve it with butter on top butter i felt that it would be overloaded.So i just grease it with oil and as usual i made this with whole wheat flour or atta.You can also try this with maida too.Lets move on making,

paratha recipe with potatoes


Ingredients

  • whole wheat flour/atta - 1 cup
  • potatoes - 2 nos boiled and peeled
  • Red chilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/4 teaspoon
  • amchur powder/dry mango powder - a pinch
  • hing - a pinch
  • salt - to taste
  • oil - as needed
  • water - as needed
Instructions
  1. Make a soft dough by mixing the whole wheat flour along with 2 teaspoon of oil and enough water.cover it and keep that aside.
  2. Now boil the potatoes and peel the skin.Mash it using fork or masher without any lumps.

  3. To the mashed potatoes add,red chilli powder,amchur powder,garam masala and hing with enough salt to it.Mix it and make equal portions and keep it ready.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions and take one of it and roll it in the rolling surface using rolling pin.
  5. Make a small disc and place the stuffing inside.Seal it carefully and press it gently as shown below.
  6. Gently roll it using rolling pin and keep it ready for toast.Heat the skillet and grease it with little oil.
  7. Now place the rolled paratha and cook it on low flame until brown spots appear.Flip the other side and cook it.
  8. Grease both sides with ghee or oil.Serve piping hot with desired curries and gravies.
