Almond-pistachios Milk with Homemade Mix

Badam (Badam paruppu is the Tamil name for whole almonds) milk is a very famous flavored milk here in India which can be served warm or cold according to the season.However served it is a delicious drink.I am great fan of chilled badam milk and always have store bought ready mix for making the same. Ever since I am using this store bought mix I have been wanting to try making it at home After all in home made mix we can take control of ingredients that should go in the making right :). I tried with a combination of three varieties of nuts and saffron.The result was awesome and we really enjoyed it. This can be prepared in no time and you can use this as a multi purpose powder other than just having it with milk. (See notes). Please try and let me know.

Homemade almond-pistachios mix
Star ingredients-Almonds+Pistachios
Time-20 minutes
Yield-300 grams
Ingredients:
100 almonds
50 grams pistachios unsalted
50 grams sarai paruppu
10 whole cardamoms
A real generous pinch of saffron
1/2 cup sugar
Method:
1.Roast all the nuts in low flame till crisp.Allow to cool thoroughly.
Almond-pistachios milk with homemade mix 2.Add saffron,sugar and cardamom.Grind to a fine powder.

3.Store in a air tight jar.

Almond-pistachios flavored milk
1 cup boiled milk
3 teaspoons almond-pistachios mix
Method:
Stir in 3 teaspoons almond-pistachios mix in a cup of milk and enjoy hot or chilled

Notes:
1.Other than consuming with milk you can use this powder for
   Flavoring payasams
   Use in cookies dough,cake batter for flavoring instead of vanilla
   Use as an ice cream base
   Use to make instant badam katli if the powder is prepared early
2 There should be absolutely no moisture in the ingredients as well as the grinding jar used for this
3.Do not grind in pulse method as almond starts leaving out butter content.Powder at a stretch for a short time.
