All We Hear Is… \ 5 Tracks to Make You Purr

As usual, this selection has a little bit of everything with a hot of brand new tracks to soundtrack your week.

Honours Band – ‘Ready to Run’

This elusive band have released little information about themselves but surely the proof is in the pudding; and this song tastes delicious. What starts out as a dark, moody tune soon turns into an emotive soundtrack. With a powerful chorus and strong, soaring vocals over a mellow guitar riff, this band look set to run into a great career.

Iyes – ”Til Infinity’

Their track ‘Glow’ was on our All We Hear Is… playlist way back in July but they’ve gone quiet over the past few months. Here is the fruit of their labour; poppier but darker than their previous work (think an edgier The xx). They “hope that you remember me” and, with what we’ve heard from them so far, there’s no doubt that we will.

Laurel – ‘Fire Breather’

Luckily for her she’s not Hardy’s sidekick; rather a beautiful blonde with an equally stunning voice. The heavy percussion in this track plays an excellent understudy to her raspy voice which builds up to the chorus and then the hypnotic bridge. She’s recently been supporting MS MR on tour so it looks like she’ll be another act making a name for herself in 2014.

Say Lou Lou – ‘Better in the Dark’

Say who who? To those of you who haven’t heard of these twins, you’re missing out. Their dreamy tune ‘Julian’ which was out earlier this year is an aural treat. This new tune has some shadier undertones whilst still remaining serene. Their vocals are impeccable as well as their sense of style, what catches!

Bipolar Sunshine – ‘Drowning Butterflies’

A firm favourite with The Bucket, this is the latest from our mate Adio. Another wonderfully juxtaposed song title, this track takes you on a summery journey. His new EP sees him take on a range of issues including teenage pregnancy (his advice? ‘Love More Worry Less’) and he’s now on the Radio 1 playlist, so we’re glad he’s starting to get the recognition he deserves.
