Ah Jayzis, Would Ya Look Who It Is!

By Jr

Howaya lads, it's been a while.  I could go into all manner of explanation as to my leave of absence but, would any of you care?  The main thing is I'm back. And, I have a new love.
I first saw Overhead, The Albatross play at a charity gig a pal of mine put together for Habitat For Humanity, in The Village in April this year (Well done to Mr. Colin Skehan, who raised money to fund his trip to Zambia). Admittedly, it wasn't love at first sight, rather a small crush.  I thought about them once or thrice after the show, and flirted with the idea of them, but was still mending a broken heart after the last band I fallen hard for(see: past posts for details/clues/tattoo).  Then, Indiependence Festival happened.  I was Artist Liaison for the Love Music Hate Racism stage, where I had the pleasure of meeting some lovely, and terribly good looking people over the course of the weekend.  The Albatross swooped in and blew the roof off our tent and my heart.  I was hooked.  I blame Liam Neeson.
I could make use of my extensive stalking techniques and abilities, and sit here all day telling you about the band, but sure just follow the links to their bandcamp and listen to this, yeah.

The six lovely chaps are migrating to Czech, for a few months to put together an album for me  us to enjoy.  So, as a treat, they will be playing an album fundraiser in The Workman's Club on Wellington Quay, TONIGHT!  You can pay whatever you like to see them, so be uber generous and don't be one of the hilarious and original people paying 1c.
Doors open at 8pm (don't miss Croupier, they are also quite deadly) The lads hit the stage around 11pm and will be whisked away via pumpkin at midnight, so that they may embark on their magical journey.
Liaise!
Ah jayzis, would ya look who it is!
