Agos Boracay Rooms + Beds is located in Station 2, along the main arterial road of the island. Sure, it’s not beachfront, but it has the advantage of accessibility and transportation—it’s easy to hail a tricycle or multicab to reach any point in the island, and to walk to places like D’Mall and White Beach in a few minutes. By the way, the property sits on a hill, separated from the road by a flight of stairs; hence, its rooms are away from the traffic noise.
I was billeted in a spacious Superior Room, which they can offer at a special rate for solo travelers. It comes with two comfortable double beds, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, hot and cold shower, cable LED TV with premium channels, safety deposit box, coffee and tea making facility, and thankfully, a small fridge to keep drinks cold. Floor length windows at the front of the room may be opened to let the sea breeze in.
I had no complaints with the room despite its simplicity, since it satisfied my expectations of a B&B: clean room, air-conditioning that works well, white linens, and a well-maintained bathroom.
What sets apart Agos Boracay Rooms + Beds from the numerous B&B’s in Boracay, however, is the service. On its website, it prides itself as a family-run establishment, so they really do make everyone feel as if they were house guests. The hospitable staff and owner were always friendly and the entire time I was there, and they made sure my needs were well taken care of.
To manage expectations, Agos Boracay Rooms + Beds is not a hotel and nowhere near the scale of one. However, the simple but well-kept rooms, affordable rates, and most of all, warm service set it apart from the others on the island and make it worthy of being among the best of its kind.
